Here's a mix of my animation and animation studies. Animation studies are heavily referenced. I go through a video and pick out what I think are the key poses and then draw them by eye like you would in a life drawing workshop, then go through and add breakdowns and inbetween. I usually keeps them at 3 to 6 frames.
